Heat Pump Installation

Reviews from homeowners whose project was a heat pump installation.

5/5 stars

"Two other companies quoted a 5-ton heat pump without measuring the ducts. Marcus ran a static pressure test, found a crushed return trunk, and saved us from oversizing. The 3.5-ton install plus duct fix was $4,200 less and actually keeps the back rooms even."

"They thought about salt air corrosion, HOA sound limits, condensate routing on the second story, and the marine layer humidity that was making our bedroom feel sticky. This was design work, not a rushed equipment sale."

"Replaced a 17-year-old AC plus furnace. The Carrier heat pump quote came with the AHRI certificate number, the LADBS permit timeline, and the rebate documentation list. Inspection passed first try."

"Post-rebuild project. They coordinated with our architect on filter access, line set routing inside chase walls, and the Title 24 paperwork. Equipment arrived already commissioned with documented readings."

"Two-zone, multi-system house with conflicting brands. The team labeled each system by room served, replaced the older zone with a Daikin inverter heat pump, and kept the newer Carrier for the rest. No more mystery thermostats."

"South Bay marine air, older ducts, pet allergies in the kids. The plan went heat pump plus duct correction plus filter cabinet, in that order. Comfort is even now and the energy bill dropped about 24% the first month."

"Rossmoyne house, 1948 build, knob-and-tube on the second floor still on the disclosure. Marcus pulled the GWP rebate paperwork before we even signed and sized a 3-ton Mitsubishi MUZ-FH hyper-heat off a Manual J he actually showed me. Static pressure came in at 0.62 in. w.c. before duct work, 0.48 after. Glendale Water and Power rebate hit our account 6 weeks later, exactly as he predicted."

"Fourplex on Western, two units shared one ancient condenser. The team mapped every line set, found one was 47 feet which was over the spec, and rerouted instead of derating the new Bosch IDS 2.0. LADBS permit pulled in 9 days. Tenants barely noticed the changeover."

Soyeon H. Koreatown, CA · April 13, 2026

"Craftsman near York, no existing AC, just a wall furnace from 1962. Marcus walked the attic with a flashlight and a tape measure for 40 minutes before quoting. Ended up with a 2.5-ton Daikin Aurora and a single new return because the existing one was 14x14 feeding a 2,100 sq ft house. Math actually checked out."

Diego R. Highland Park, CA · April 8, 2026

"Trousdale lot, HOA sound limits, and a wife who hates seeing equipment from the pool. The engineer found a side yard nook that kept the Carrier Infinity condenser at 56 dB at the property line, well under the 60 dB limit. Condensate routed through a Little Giant VCMA-20ULS pump because gravity drain was not happening on this slab."

Layla F. Beverly Hills, CA · April 2, 2026

"Sand Section, two blocks from the strand, salt air eats equipment. They specced a Mitsubishi MUZ-FS with the coastal coil coating and stainless fasteners. Marcus said the unprotected install down the street probably had 6 to 8 years left, tops. Felt like talking to someone who had actually replaced corroded coils before."

Brendan O. Manhattan Beach, CA · March 28, 2026

"Bungalow Heaven HPOZ, which I knew would slow things down, but the Pasadena Permit Center took 5 weeks instead of the 3 we were quoted. Once approved, the install went fast and the 3-ton Trane XV19 has been quiet and even. Knock a star off for the timeline communication, not the work."

Esther N. Pasadena, CA · March 24, 2026

"Spanish revival on Hill Drive, plaster walls, no way to add returns without tearing up the ceiling. The team designed around it with a high-static Daikin FIT and a single oversized return in the hallway. SEER2 came out at 16.8 on the AHRI certificate. Inspection passed first visit."

Tomas G. Eagle Rock, CA · March 18, 2026

"South of the Boulevard, 4,200 sq ft, two zones that never agreed with each other. Marcus zoned it properly with a Carrier Infinity and a Greenspeed variable speed setup, plus a hard start kit on the existing pool pump compressor that was tripping. Bedrooms now hold within a 1.5°F delta of the thermostat."

Reza M. Encino, CA · March 11, 2026

"Walk Street bungalow, 1,100 sq ft, no attic access from inside. They went mini-split with three Mitsubishi MSZ-GL heads and ran the line sets through a chase the previous owner had used for cable. Clean lines, no exterior conduit visible from the front. June Gloom humidity is finally not turning the bedroom into a cave."

Camille B. Venice, CA · March 7, 2026

"Stilted house off Mulholland, the old condenser was on a deck that was sagging. Marcus refused to put new equipment back on it without a structural sign-off, which honestly I should have caught. We pulled a separate permit, reinforced the platform, then dropped a 4-ton Bryant Evolution. Refrigerant lockout set at 5°F per his recommendation."

Hyun J. Hollywood Hills, CA · March 1, 2026

"Magnolia Park, post-war tract home with original 60s ductwork. Static pressure on the old system was 1.1 in. w.c., basically choking it. Replaced with a 3-ton Lennox SL22KLV and rebuilt the supply trunk in R8. Energy bill dropped 31% the first full month compared to last February."

Marisol V. Burbank, CA · February 25, 2026

"Silver Lake hills, narrow lot, two retaining walls between the side yard and the equipment location. Crew did great on the install itself, Daikin Aurora 2-ton, but they tracked dirt through the kitchen on day two and the cleanup felt rushed. Marcus made it right with a callback the next morning. Work itself, no complaints."

Quentin A. Silver Lake, CA · February 20, 2026

"Replaced a 19-year-old Goodman that had been limping along since we bought the house. The team ran a full Manual J, Manual D, and Manual S. Came back with a 3.5-ton Carrier Infinity and an actual explanation of why not 4. AHRI number on the proposal, rebate paperwork prefilled."

Nadia K. Studio City, CA · February 16, 2026

"Morningside Park, single story, no AC ever installed in the 64 years this house has existed. Marcus designed a 2.5-ton Bosch IDS Premium and added a MERV 13 filter cabinet because of the freeway proximity. Title 24 §150.2(b) compliance was on the proposal, which two other companies had not even mentioned."

Oluwaseun A. Inglewood, CA · February 10, 2026

"Post-Palisades-Fire, ash everywhere, our old AC was running and pulling soot through the house. The team did a full coil clean on the existing system as a stopgap, then came back two weeks later for the Mitsubishi MUZ-FH install with a sealed return and MERV 16. Honest about what was urgent vs what could wait."

Felicity W. Pacific Palisades, CA · February 4, 2026

"Norma Triangle condo, HOA gave me 11 pages of rules. Marcus read all of them, then sized a Mitsubishi MSZ-FS multi-zone that fit on the approved equipment pad and stayed under 52 dB at the neighbors line. Approval came back same week. The board chair actually thanked me for the documentation packet."

Pavel S. West Hollywood, CA · January 29, 2026

"California Heights bungalow, 1,400 sq ft, marine air corrosion on the old equipment was visible from the curb. The engineer specced a Daikin FIT with the coastal package and rerouted condensate to a proper drain pan with a float switch instead of the floor drain the previous installer had used. Cleaner install all around."

Rashida T. Long Beach, CA · January 23, 2026

"Hancock Park duplex, 1928, original gravity furnace in the basement. Permitting was a nightmare on paper but Marcus had clearly done HPOZ work before. Two-zone Carrier Infinity, separate condensers, separate thermostats per unit. Tenant in the upstairs unit said it is the first summer she has not slept with a window fan."

Konstantin D. Los Angeles, CA · January 18, 2026
5/5 stars

"Tract home off Inglewood Boulevard, 1,650 sq ft, marine layer kept the bedroom muggy even with the old AC running. The team added a dedicated dehumidification mode through a Bryant Evolution variable speed and a fresh duct seal. Bedroom RH dropped from 68% to 51% on a typical morning. Sleeping noticeably better."

Imani L. Mar Vista, CA · January 12, 2026

"Two-story, 3,400 sq ft, single zone trying to do the work of two. Marcus split it properly, downstairs on a 2.5-ton Lennox SL22KLV, upstairs on a 2-ton, separate Honeywell zoning panel. Refrigerant line sets were rerun through a new chase because the old ones had been kinked behind drywall for years."

Babak F. Tarzana, CA · January 6, 2026
5/5 stars

"Post-Eaton-Fire, our equipment survived but the ash got into everything. The team cleaned the coil, replaced the filter housing with a sealed MERV 16 setup, and installed a new 3-ton Mitsubishi MUZ-FH because the old condenser had compressor damage from running dirty. Honest assessment that the unit could have been salvaged short-term but not long-term."

Cassandra E. Altadena, CA · December 28, 2025

"Hillside lot off Lemoyne, the only condenser pad location was 38 feet from the air handler. Marcus calculated line set capacity, added the manufacturer required oil trap, and the system tested clean at commissioning. He showed me the pressure readings on his gauges. First contractor in 4 quotes who explained why distance mattered."

Mateo C. Echo Park, CA · December 21, 2025

"Kinneloa Mesa adjacent, well water, hard water deposits had killed the previous condensate pump in 3 years. The team installed a Aspen Mini Pump with the auto-flush feature and routed condensate to the laundry standpipe with proper trap. Daikin Aurora 3-ton on the new pad, level within 1/8 inch."

Sevana M. La Canada Flintridge, CA · December 15, 2025

"Veterans Park area, 1,800 sq ft, replaced a wheezy 18 SEER from 2008. The Bosch IDS 2.0 install was clean and the static pressure work was thorough. My only gripe was the initial appointment got bumped twice for emergency calls, which I get, but communication on the reschedule was through text that came late. Once on site, professional all the way."

Rolando P. Culver City, CA · December 9, 2025
5/5 stars

"Mandeville Canyon, fire zone, equipment had to meet the updated defensible space rules. Marcus knew the ember-resistant venting requirements and specced a Carrier Infinity with the appropriate screening. AHRI certificate, LADBS permit, and the fire department sign-off were all bundled in one PDF I got the day after install."

Yumiko T. Brentwood, CA · December 3, 2025
5/5 stars

"Verdugo Woodlands, 1947 ranch, asbestos tape on the old supply plenum. The team brought in an abatement sub for that section before tearing out, refused to disturb it themselves which I appreciated. New plenum, 3-ton Trane XV19, GWP rebate filed for me. Quiet at 54 dB on the patio."

Dimitri V. Glendale, CA · November 26, 2025
5/5 stars

"North of Ventura, 2,800 sq ft, the previous owner had stacked two undersized condensers instead of replacing properly. Marcus consolidated to a single 4-ton Mitsubishi hyper-heat with proper zoning. Removed the dead second unit and patched the slab. House actually balances now, the back office is no longer 8°F warmer than the living room."

Aishwarya N. Sherman Oaks, CA · November 18, 2025
5/5 stars

"Loft conversion in the Arts District, exposed ductwork was part of the aesthetic, but the previous owner had run flex where rigid should have been. The engineer rebuilt the visible runs in spiral metal, kept the look, and dropped a Daikin FIT condenser on the roof with a vibration isolation pad. Building engineer signed off easily."

Jamal H. Downtown Los Angeles, CA · November 11, 2025

"Franklin Hills, 1926 Mediterranean, original radiators we wanted to keep for winter character. The team designed an inverter heat pump as primary with the radiators as supplemental, not the other way around. Mitsubishi MUZ-FH 3-ton, lockout temp at 10°F which we will basically never hit, but the math worked."

Penelope X. Los Feliz, CA · November 4, 2025

"South Redondo, four blocks from the water, salt corrosion city. Specced a Carrier Infinity Coastal with the e-coated coil and stainless cabinet hardware. Marcus walked me through the maintenance schedule for coastal equipment which is more aggressive than inland. Felt like he wanted the unit to actually last 15 years."

Tariq B. Redondo Beach, CA · October 28, 2025
5/5 stars

"Gated community, the HOA architectural committee wanted equipment hidden from neighboring lots. The engineer drew a screening plan, picked a Lennox SL22KLV that ran at 58 dB, and routed condensate to an existing drainage swale instead of a new tie-in. Approval was a formality. Inspection passed first visit."

Xiomara G. Calabasas, CA · October 20, 2025

"Magnolia Park, replaced a 24-year-old furnace and AC combo with a Bryant Evolution heat pump. The work itself was solid, static pressure came in at 0.51 in. w.c. and the temperature split was textbook. Took a star off because the post-install walkthrough was rushed and I had to email twice for the AHRI documentation. Got it eventually, no issues with the system."

Edwin S. Burbank, CA · October 13, 2025

"Ocean Park, 1923 craftsman, no existing ducts at all. Marcus designed a fully ductless Mitsubishi MSZ-FS solution with five heads and one MXZ outdoor. Line set lengths were all under 50 feet so no derating. Permit through Santa Monica Building was clean because he had submitted the load calc up front."

Genevieve A. Santa Monica, CA · October 7, 2025
5/5 stars

"Lake Encino area, 3,100 sq ft, the existing system was a Frankenstein of three different brands across two decades. The team standardized on Carrier Infinity, ripped out the mismatched zone controls, and installed a single Greenspeed variable system that actually modulates instead of slamming on and off. Comfort difference is real."

Hossein K. Encino, CA · September 29, 2025

"Beachwood Canyon, narrow lot, old condenser was on the roof which had been a leak source for years. Marcus moved the new Daikin Aurora to a side yard pad with proper noise screening, restored the roof flashing, and added a hard start kit on the kitchen subzero compressor that had been sharing the breaker. Better solution than I asked for."

Ifeoma E. Hollywood Hills, CA · September 21, 2025

"West Valley summer hits 108°F regularly. The engineer specced a 4-ton Carrier Infinity sized for actual peak load, not nameplate cooling. Refrigerant lockout temp was set with hot weather operation in mind. Compressor has not short-cycled once since install. Energy bill in August was 22% lower than the same month last year."

Bernardo Q. Woodland Hills, CA · September 14, 2025
5/5 stars

"Point Dume, salt air plus wildfire smoke, the equipment lifecycle out here is brutal. Marcus specced a Mitsubishi MUZ-FH with coastal coating and added a sealed MERV 16 filter cabinet for smoke events. Condensate pump is a Sauermann SI-30 with a high water alarm wired into the panel because we are not always home."

Mireille J. Malibu, CA · September 7, 2025

"Linda Vista, 1939 Spanish, attic was 132°F when they started the install in August. Crew worked early mornings to be safe and finished the air handler swap in two days. Carrier Infinity 3-ton, AFUE backup at 96% on the auxiliary, although we will rarely use it in Pasadena. Pasadena Permit Center inspection signed off same week."

Cyril N. Pasadena, CA · August 27, 2025

"The Flats, 4,800 sq ft, three existing zones that never worked together. The team did a full system overhaul with two separate Trane XV20i systems, properly sized per Manual J. The old equipment had been oversized by close to 40%, which is why it was short-cycling. House feels different now, not just cooler."

Ophelia R. Beverly Hills, CA · August 18, 2025
4/5 stars

"East of Centinela, 1,500 sq ft, replaced an old gas furnace with a Bosch IDS Premium heat pump. The install was clean and the 17.8 SEER2 has been performing as promised. Minor complaint: they nicked the door frame moving the air handler in and the touch up paint did not quite match. Marcus offered to send a painter, I declined, but the offer was made."

Theresa M. Mar Vista, CA · August 10, 2025

"Old Torrance, 1948 tract, the previous AC had been installed by someone who clearly skipped the static pressure check. Reading on the old system was 1.3 in. w.c., choking the blower. New 3-ton Daikin FIT plus a rebuilt return came in at 0.46. Same house, completely different airflow. Marcus showed me the before and after on his manometer."

Wendell F. Torrance, CA · August 3, 2025
5/5 stars

"Colfax Meadows, 2,200 sq ft, no aux heat needed in this climate so the engineer specced a straight inverter heat pump without electric strips. Saved on the panel work. Bryant Evolution 3-ton, runs around 48 dB on low which we cannot hear from inside. House holds 72°F in 105°F weather without breaking a sweat."

Kalpana S. Studio City, CA · July 25, 2025
5/5 stars

"Adams Hill, 1924 Spanish, no existing ducts because of the plaster ceilings. Marcus designed a high-velocity Unico system on the inverter heat pump rather than tearing up the ceilings for conventional ducts. Install took 6 days but the house looks untouched and comfort is even across rooms that previously varied by 9°F."

Anastasios L. Glendale, CA · July 17, 2025

"Oakwood neighborhood, 1,200 sq ft, single story with a finished garage I work from. The team designed a 2-zone Mitsubishi MSZ-GL setup so I can run the office cool without freezing the bedroom. Two outdoor units instead of a multi-zone because the line set runs would have been over spec for a single condenser."

Bianca H. Venice, CA · July 8, 2025

"Garvanza, hilltop lot, the old condenser was visible from three neighbors yards. Marcus picked a Carrier Infinity rated at 51 dB and located it in a screened nook on the downhill side. Neighbor across the canyon actually came over to ask what we did because she could not hear it anymore. Thats a first."

Octavio R. Highland Park, CA · June 29, 2025

"Belmont Shore, salt air plus tight setbacks, the old condenser was 14 inches from the property line. The engineer relocated to a code compliant spot, replaced the rusted disconnect, and installed a 2.5-ton Daikin Aurora with the marine package. Inspection caught nothing, which after dealing with my last contractor felt like a small miracle."

Saoirse D. Long Beach, CA · June 20, 2025

"Near Centinela Park, 1,300 sq ft, a wall furnace and two window units was the entire HVAC situation. The team designed a 2.5-ton Bosch IDS ducted system with a new return and four supply runs. AHRI certificate matched the proposal. LADWP Consumer Rebate paperwork was filed before they left the driveway."

Idris W. Inglewood, CA · May 28, 2025

"Bel-Air on a private road, equipment had to be helicoptered to the nearest staging area, kidding, but it felt like that getting trucks up the driveway. The crew was patient with access logistics and dropped a 5-ton Trane XV20i system over two days. Sound rating at 56 dB even at high stage, neighbors never heard a thing."

Vera Y. Los Angeles, CA · April 13, 2025

"Post-Eaton-Fire ash was still falling when we called for an estimate. Marcus would not commit to install dates until air quality stabilized, which I appreciated more than a quick yes. When we did go, it was a 3-ton Mitsubishi MUZ-FH with a sealed MERV 16 filter cabinet. Honest pacing, honest work."

Magnolia U. Altadena, CA · February 21, 2025

"Alphabet streets, 2,400 sq ft, replaced a 16-year-old Lennox with a Carrier Infinity heat pump. The technical work was excellent, static pressure dropped from 0.88 to 0.42 in. w.c. after duct fixes. The four-star reason: the original quote did not include the new disconnect that turned out to be required by code. They covered the labor on it but I had to pay materials, around $180, which felt like it should have been caught up front."

"Chandler Estates, 1956 ranch, original ducts were lined with what looked like asbestos paper. Marcus stopped work, brought in testing, came back negative thankfully, but the fact that he stopped is what sold me on the company. 3-ton Daikin FIT, full duct replacement in R8, energy bill cut nearly in half compared to last September."

Quiet Bedroom Mini Split Installation

Reviews from homeowners whose project was a quiet bedroom mini split installation.

"Our primary bedroom was 6 degrees warmer than the hallway thermostat at 11 p.m. Breathe LA 365 placed a 9,000 BTU mini split where it would not blow on the bed and tuned the low-speed fan to under 22 dB. We sleep through the night now."

"Walk-street property, line set had to cross a shared easement. The team coordinated with the neighbor, ran a 45 ft line set in a low-profile chase, and finished it in matching beige. Bedroom head is whisper quiet, no air blowing on the bed."

MERV 13 Filter Cabinet Upgrade

Reviews from homeowners whose project was a merv 13 filter cabinet upgrade.

"Marcus measured the return at 0.42 in. w.c. of static and explained why my old 1-inch filter slot was bypassing air around the media. The new 4-inch cabinet finally lets the smoke-season plan we built actually work without starving the blower."

"Plan was strong and execution was careful. Took an extra visit to finalize the return sealing because of access constraints, but they did not charge for the extra trip. Static from 0.72 to 0.48 in. w.c. and indoor PM2.5 stays low."

Wren D. Malibu, CA · February 14, 2026

"Beach grit and seasonal smoke made our 1-inch slot useless. The whole-home plan layered an Aprilaire 4400 cabinet, sealed return drops, and a portable HEPA for the bedroom. PM2.5 dropped from 21 to 5 indoors."

Octavio F. Manhattan Beach, CA · February 24, 2026

"Practical, written, measured. They found a panned joist return leaking, sealed it, installed a Honeywell F200 cabinet, and gave us a smoke-mode protocol. Six weeks in, blower noise is lower and surfaces stay cleaner."

"They scoped the whole house, not just the air handler. Aprilaire 2410 cabinet, two sealed return drops, and a CADR-matched HEPA for the bedroom. PM2.5 holds at 4 to 6 indoors during moderate AQI days."

"Building owner approved after they presented static and ACH numbers. The cabinet upgrade plus sealing dropped indoor PM2.5 from 24 to 6 during a moderate AQI day. The written scope matched the install exactly."

"Honest, low-pressure scoping. They declined to upsell an in-duct UV lamp and explained why MERV 13 plus sealing was the better lever. Aprilaire 4400 cabinet, sealed returns, portable HEPA for the bedroom. PM2.5 holds at 5 indoors."

Idris S. Redondo Beach, CA · April 14, 2026

Duct Redesign and Air Balancing

Reviews from homeowners whose project was a duct redesign and air balancing.

"Knocked one star because scheduling slipped a week. The work itself was excellent. Static pressure dropped from 0.91 to 0.58 inches and the new addition finally gets airflow without the hallway thermostat short cycling."

"Verdugo Woodlands ranch. The hallway return was effectively a 4-inch slot behind a giant grille. They redesigned with a proper 18x20 return, sealed the cabinet, and the TESP delta dropped almost half an inch. Living room is no longer a wind tunnel."
